Hello, everyone. I'm Desarae Gilzene and I will be blogging through my media studies process. I will explain in detail about the different things I've learned and things that you need to keep in mind while creating a film.
Topic Introduction
Media studies are all forms of mass communication such as movies, television, video games, and social media etc. We may not realize it but we all use it in our daily lives. From seeing the most watched movie to listening to the most recent single that’s come out it can always be beneficial to better understand and analyze why exactly this was put out and the different elements it consists of. Media studies comes with so many different aspects and layers that are so interesting dissect. So I will be explaining some of those aspects with you.
Content Application
With this information I am able to better analyze movies and find some things that are regularly used in movies that I may have not been able to see before.
Reflection
I have learned so much from media studies and the many compositions in it.
3 things that I learned would be that majority of the time when something is in a type of production it’s there for a purpose and not just my coincidence. I also learned that there are many different aspects when analyzing what category in genre that a movie fits it. Finally, I learned that the many movie genres may have originated from something else but as time went on it slowly started to from into what they are today.
2 things that I didn’t know would be the many angles and camera techniques that movies use to give the feel that they’re aiming for. I also didn’t know that there was a social function of every genre that they all usually follow, I assumed that each movie tries to create a movie like no other.
1 question that I still have is what are the specific different attributes being put into a film to make it what it is?
